I recently bought an electric bike from Tekmotiv. My experience with James and Alex has been exemplary from showing me a number of suitable bikes and encouraging test rides on different bikes. There were no pressure sales tactics. Anyone can sell you a bike, but the real test comes if there is a problem with a new bike. This happened to me (no fault of Tekmotiv) and within an hour of sending them an email, I was told that the bike would be collected that afternoon. The problem was diagnosed and a new part was ordered. Tekmotiv liaised with the manufacturer who sent out a replacement part overnight under the warranty. This was fitted promptly by Alex and the bike was returned to me approximately 48 hours after my initial email along with a full explanation of the problem and the remedy. A fantastic service and in my opinion illustrates the ethos of the company. If you are thinking of buying an electric bike, I have no hesitation in recommending contacting Tekmotiv.

I then had as long as I wanted to road test it. Once I had made my decision he double checked the bike and fitted a luggage rack for me. We bought two folding e-bikes from James at Tekmotiv, and he spent a lot of time making sure we got the right ones. Don't expect a glossy showroom (yet!) - at the time of writing this is a small commercial unit with a lot of bikes squeezed into it! But you can expect someone who knows the market and (certainly for the kind of bikes we wanted) has a good selection of different makes that you can try out side by side in quick succession: the kind of thing you just can't get when shopping online, or at a lot of brand-controlled retailers. We visited, pretty certain of the model we wanted after seeing a lot of Youtube videos about it, but after comparing with three or four others, picked something different. Then decided to switch to a larger size of that new one. Yes, we might have got a bike slightly cheaper online, but we would also almost certainly have ended up with an inferior one! A good customer experience and definitely recommended.

Tekmotiv was very responsive to any of my queries and was very patient with all my questions. My bike came in today so was delivered within 2 days after ordering.
